Intacct’s modern architecture gives you the capability to track and report on financial and operational data in real-time straight from your financial system and source data, while simplifying your chart of accounts.
With this configurable capability, your organization has access to live financial and operational data via reports, dashboards and performance cards reducing your dependency on generating time and resource consuming reports in spreadsheets that requires manual effort to consolidate data from other systems.
Simplify your chart of accounts
Most financial solutions chart of accounts use a hard-coded structure. As an example, to track 3 locations, 5 departments, and 5 projects, you’d need 75 account code combinations; as a result you could end up with a complicated, unmanageable set of codes. Adding a new location or department could potentially force you to add hundreds of additional accounts. Intacct lets you keep it simple; you only need to set up your primary account codes. There’s no need to add hard-coded segment combinations as your business grows and changes.
Track your business & operational data from one source-of-truth
Unlike traditional accounting systems with old-school architectures, Intacct enables you to apply (tag) dimension values to transactions and operational data instead of assigning transactions to hard coded individual accounts. Tagging with dimensions enables you to add business context to your data easily. Dimensions can be used for any transaction—general ledger, receivables, payables, time, revenue management, fixed assets, and more. This gives you the flexibility and agility to adapt as your business changes; you can add the dimensions you need to easily track what’s important to your business.
Simplify your reporting effort, save time and broaden visibility
Dimensions will fundamentally improve your reporting, making it easier for you to get fast answers to your business questions in the context you need. Dimensions are integrated into the user interface of Intacct’s easy-to-use financial report writer. It’s simple to view performance from any new angle you need. As you create reports, simply use drop-down lists to filter, group and organize your data by dimensions. For example, you can go from a standard income statement to profitability by project or revenue by geography with a few clicks of the mouse.
